Gabriele Gentile was born in Parma (Italy) where he completed his studies in the humanities, literature, and communication. He approached digital photography fascinated by the magical power of this medium, unique in its ability to capture an instant and render it eternal.
Rediscovering childhood curiosities such as a fascination for colors and shapes, as well as for forgotten and unexplored places, he developed his artistic research around absence in time and space through nostalgic, dreamlike imagery, marked by an intense use of color and the exaltation of empty space.
Time is understood as the dilation of the soul and color not as an adjective but as a subject in itself; hence the artistic name Vetroviola, a transparency where the warmth of red and the coolness of blue merge into one.
Photography, for him, is the expression of an inner world and the endless pursuit of beauty.
